Hydrangeas are beautiful and popular garden shrubs that come in different colors. I had already purchased some silk hydrangeas for my Fall Mantel and decided to go back to Hobby Lobby and purchase several more to make a Fall wreath. Hobby Lobby’s silk flowers go on sale for 50% off every other week. I chose he dark beige color hydrangeas as they give a deep, Fall look.
Here is what you will need to make this wreath:
- 6 silk hydrangeas
- 1 grapevine wreath
- 1 ribbon for bow or pre-made bow (I chose burlap)
- some greenery branches
- a small pillow (optional – or other decor to hang in center of wreath)
- wire cutters
- U hooks
Place one piece of greenery on each end of where you want each ending of flowers to be on each side of the wreath, and clip a hook on each stem.
Next, clip the large stems of the silk hydrangeas so a small branch is left to place thru the branch. Place a U hook on each stem to secure it on the wreath. You can also you use floral wire.
I chose to use the bottom right corner and work only halfway through the wreath instead of covering it all. I did this with the six hydrangeas and pinned them throughout the bottom right hand portion of the grapevine wreath.
Several weeks ago I had a purchased a small pillow through eBay and had it on my fireplace. I placed this on the wreath as I liked the color of the material and went well with the wreath as it was a small pillow. Lastly, I secured the burlap bow on the center top portion of the wreath. That’s all. It took me less than ten minutes to make.
