When you have several kids and they all go to school, you will need an area where they can work on their daily homework and assignments. When we remodeled our family room, my husband added a small work table to the room where they can use laptop and can work on homework. I call it the “Homework Station”. As they will always need pencils, markers, crayons, etc., I decided to redo my homework caddy that I had made.
I bought most of my supplies at my favorite neighborhood Target. They have a dollar section right when you walk in that you almost always need to check out. There is where I found most of my items for a dollar. How awesome is that. Here is how easily you can create your own Homework Caddy so your children will have a home for all their necessities when it comes to doing their homework. The caddy has a nice handle where you can easily place away when they are finished or take any where your children need to work on their homework!
You may not need all the following items. Gather up mainly what your children use.
- a caddy (found this one at Home Depot for $5.88)
- small pencil sharpener
- mechanical pencils
- hole puncher
- note pad
- 6 small cans (depending the size of your caddy)
Gather each category, for example, pens, markers, crayons, etc. and put in each can. Gather up the glue, hole puncher, rulers, tissue and scissors and put in their own can. That’s all folks! You can add stickers on the outside with the children’s names or title it “homework”. Now you have an organized caddy with all your kid’s homework supplies. Happy Working!
