The refrigerator can become unorganized, cluttered and with food going bad more frequently. To avoid this, I have learned to freshen-up my fridge weekly or bi-weekly.
This time I decided to buy some plastic placemats from Target to decorate my fridge.
I chose the navy blue and white and were $1.99 each. These make my fridge a little more decorative! I also bought the Fridge Binz clear containers from TJ Maxx to store my cheeses, eggs and canned drinks.
For my drawers, I added plastic bins that I already had on hand to divide my vegetables and not just throw them in the crisp drawers. Mixing your fruits and vegetables make them go bad quicker.
Another tip I learned is, label your glass containers with washi tape to date and label your food.
Here are my basic 4 steps for an easy clean-up and an organized fridge.
1. Take everything out of the fridge!
2. Throw away all food that has gone bad. (if you do this weekly it should not be much)
3. Wipe down all inside of fridge and shelves with an all natural cleaner and a microfiber cloth. I use a homemade one, not a toxic cleaner. You can also use a mild dishwashing soap.
