Summer is around the corner and that means swimming suits, sunscreen, summer hats and beaches! Getting fit should be high on our priority list, not only to look & feel good about ourselves, but to be healthy! If you are like me, the sight of green smoothies don’t really catch my attention.
After doing research and learning about the many benefits of green smoothies, I decided to give it a shot! Why not? I had invested in an awesome blender a couple of years ago called Vitamix. It is a super powerful blender. In addition, my sister-in-law kept trying to convince me to try, as she mentioned they were fairly easy to make. I decided to search an infinite amount of different recipes online, and only writing down the ingredients I liked.
A green smoothie is a smoothie using fresh fruits and dark, leafy greens such as spinach, kale, chard, collards, etc. These smoothies are naturally dairy-free, using creamy fruits like bananas, papayas or to give them a smooth texture.

Here is my green smoothie recipe that after many attempts, I believe I have found my very own perfect green smoothie!
- 2 cups of spinach
- 2 cups of coconut water
- 1 – 1/2 frozen bananas (I love to freeze my fruits)
- 2 pitted dates
- 1 scoop of protein powder (I love doTerra chocolate protein powder)
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon of flaxseeds
- 1 tablespoon of hemp seeds
- 1 pinch of cinnamon powder (optional)
- 1 pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- Place all above ingredients into your blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour in a mason jar or in a to go cup & enjoy!
