Happy Fall Ya’ll! Magnolia Market is located in Waco, Texas. For all of us that are faithful Joanna Gaines’ fans, we know sure and well what this is and everything about it. Even my husband knows all the story, as I keep him updated. Ha.
My husband and I have taken many, numerous road trips. We enjoy driving out on the country side and just seeing the different ranches and beautiful Texas scenery. There are times when he is working on some projects himself and needs to purchase certain parts or supplies. He invites me to accompany him as some of these items are out of town. I almost never say no. Even when the kids were little, they remember our short and sometimes long, road trips. We believe this is a great time to spend quality time together.
This past weekend was no exception. All three of our teenagers went out of town on a church trip and our youngest stayed with her Aunt. This was the best time to just drive away into the sunset together. Ok, that was a bit dramatic. We did, however, see a gorgeous sunset our first evening out. Anyhow, we drove to San Antonio for the weekend. On the second day, we made a important stop, to the famous Magnolia Market!
This is my third time coming to Magnolia Market. The first time, my gracious husband brought me during Christmas time in 2015. I instantly fell in love. The following year, my friend and I stopped. This past weekend, my husband brought me again. He waited patiently in the bright Texas sunshine and even took lots of pictures of me. It is such a great place to get your creative juices flowing. At least it was like this for me!
I am a long time lover of decorating. I have always wanted to be an interior designer since I was a teenager but instead, received my college degree in Office Technology. Theres so much I like to decorate in my house. My husband knows me too well. Even though there was so many people there, he was just hanging out while I was seeing all the Magnolia madness. He is such a good sport.
During this trip, I realized that when you are married, you give and take. I decided to accompany him in this trip for his needs and in return, he wanted to make me happy and brought me here. Even though I made it here and wanted everything in sight, I didn’t want to wait so much time in long, long lines. I suddenly felt sorry for him waiting on me so much. I knew I didn’t “need” the items, I just “wanted” them. I made the brave decision to return the items back and told my husband, lets go eat! I realized material things are just material things. I do love buying, don’t get me wrong! But I have already bought several items from Magnolia that I didn’t need more items this weekend. Talk about resistance and perseverance! Ha.
As we headed out, we were driving back by a Magnolia sign on the other side of the store. I told my husband, oh no I didn’t get to take a picture by that sign! He then drove in the middle of the street, stopped the car, and said let’s get off, I will take a picture of you real quick! OMG! GASP! I couldn’t believe it. We got off and sure enough, he took a picture of me by the sign. Then a sweet couple came up and said, we can take a picture of you all together. We thought that was so nice of them. So we did the same to them. This just made my heart smile! Hence, the last picture of us.
We then went for dinner and he took me to an antique store. We both love to find cute antique and/or vintage items. He likes things for the garage and I like things for the house. It was perfect.
Overall it was an amazing road trip with just the two of us. Long story short, enjoy the little things! When you do all things in love, love is returned. Many times, married couples need quality time alone to realize how beautiful your marriage really is. Gratitude was all over the Magnolia Market today. And yes, this road trip reminded me how thankful I am for my marriage!
