When decorating, try and use stuff you already have before purchasing some more. I decided to set my table early for Christmas so we can enjoy it longer. I seldom set the table, only on special occasions like Thanksgiving and Christmas. The rest of the year, I pretty much keep it clean with one small centerpiece.
This year, I used mainly what I had with the exception of purchasing holly cloth napkins and a fresh poinsettia for the center of the table. I had the rest of the stuff in storage.
For the centerpiece, I simply used garland that already had small pine cones and gifts attached to it. I got a cake stand and set the small live poinsettia on it surrounding it with extra tree ornaments. I used a candle holder and candle that I already had. I also added two small artificial trees that I keep around decorating other areas during the year.
For the table, I used my gold chargers that I found at the Dollar Tree. I used the same china plates that I already had. All I purchased was these white holly napkins. I attached a small gold bow and a piece of fresh pine attached.
There you have it a simple Christmas table setting!
Another piece I added was as you enter my dining room, I placed a small chalkboard on the counter.
