Laundry is a never ending task, especially with a large family like ours. Four children and piles of loads are not pretty to look at.
One day when my husband saw how much clothes was always piling up and how long it took me to fold and put in stacks, he said, get them each a laundry basket! All I could think of was: “what a genius!”
I already had some laundry baskets where I sort dark colors and whites. However, I wanted to have a lightweight basket for each. This way we can easily take to our rooms, unload, hang clothes, and return the basket. I started shopping and found these awesome storage bins that were on sale at Ross. They are collapsible and very lightweight. Here is what I actually paid for each:
Then I searched for some kind of label to place on them. As I looked in my office supplies box, I had some Martha Stewart labels that I had purchased on sale at Staples a few months ago! Using my handy labeler, I typed each of our names and stuck each gold-plated label on each bin. So easy!
Here is the outcome and now my kids take their own storage bin to their room, unload and return. This is the easiest way to sort all your family’s laundry faster than ever. Each child should be responsible of putting their own clothes away. My six year old still needs my assistance; however, everyone else is on their own. Mama is happy!
If you have easier systems that your family handles laundry, I would love to know.
Thank you for stopping by.
